Amedeo "Al," age 94, was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1918, Mr. Iorio attended Brooklyn Tech and graduated Steven's Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was the owner of Iorio Accordions, a firm started by his immigrant father, Candido Iorio, over 100 years ago in New York City. Mr. Iorio transformed the firm with changing times to Iorio Syncordion Musical Instrument Company, a developer and manufacturer of electronic accordions, keyboards and musical instruments with a national reputation.In World War II, Mr. Iorio proudly served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Pacific on Guam maintaining the critical B-29 fleet of aircraft. Mr. Iorio was predeceased by his only son, Candido "Ken" Iorio. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gloria (nee Dallorso) and his granddaughter, Tara Iorio of Colorado, great-granddaughter, Madlyn Herkert of Texas. Also surviving are his sister, Norma Ferraro of Long Island, his daughter-in-law, Judy Iorio of NJ and his niece, Denise Grasing of NJ, along with many devoted nieces and nephews. Visitation at the Barrett Funeral Home 148 Dean Dr Tenafly on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass Saturday 11 AM St Therese Church Cresskill. Interment Madonna Cemetery Fort Lee.
