CARLSTADT - Angelo R. Cassiere, 91, of Carlstadt for 10 years and formerly of East Rutherford, passed away on March 26, 2014. Mr. Cassiere was born in Newark.

He was an Army veteran and a member of the VFW Post 4591 in Hasbrouck Heights. For 22 years he was a correction officer at the Essex County Correctional Facility and retired at the age of 65. Angelo was a member of the Columbus Club in Newark and the Italian-American Society in Nutley.

He was beloved husband of Gloria Frances (nee Strillacci) Cassiere, loving father of Denise Malinowski and her husband Richard, and Dean J. Cassiere and his wife Ginger, cherished grandfather of Adrianna, Deanamarie, Jaimerose and Andrew, and great grandfather of Jeffrey, Nathen and Gabriella. He was predeceased by five brothers, Daniel, George, Joseph, Benjamin and Salvatore Cassiere.

Family and friends will be received Friday, March 28, at the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., Carlstadt. The funeral will depart from the Kimak Funeral Home on Saturday, March 29, at 9 a.m. for a Mass in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, East Rutherford at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to , P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
