Anton G. "Tony", of Flanders passed away at his daughter's home in Flanders on Saturday April 14, 2012.
Born in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia on September 11, 1930. He was 81.
He lived in Paterson for many years before moving to Flanders eight years ago.
He was a foreman with Philips Steel in Oakland. An Army sergeant veteran of the Korean Conflict. Tony loved gardening and cooking. He was a "Mister Fix-It" who enjoyed camping with his motor home. He was a parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus Church in Budd Lake, a member of the Mt. Olive Senior Citizens and the Lobosco Association.
Beloved husband of Rose (nee: Lobosco) for 57 years. Devoted father of Olga Firstbrook and her husband George, Anton and his wife Jennifer, Mary Lalama and her husband Joe Nicastro and Angelo Bernhard and Susan Schmidt. Cherished grandfather of Frank, Thomas, Kearstin, Bethany, Alyssa, Michael and Andrew. Loving great grandfather of Elias. Dear brother of George, the late Frank and the late Wilco. He also leaves behind many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Tony's Life Celebration on Monday April 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (corner Rt. 206), Chester, NJ 07930 (908-879-3090).
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, April 17 at 10 AM at St. Jude Thaddeus Church, Budd Lake.
Interment will be private.
