Curtis "Curt," age 81, of Paterson, NJ passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital, Wayne, NJ. He was born in Georgia and resided in Paterson, NJ since 1958. Curtis was employed by The Bay State Milling Company, Clifton, NJ for 44 years where he was Vice President of the Union. He also worked part-time for Gianella's Bakery for 10 years, before retiring 10 years ago. Curtis was a United States Army Veteran (Korean Conflict). When he came to Paterson he finished Barber's School. Curtis was a member of The Calvary Baptist Church, Paterson, NJ. Curtis was a lifelong Baseball Fan and played in various local leagues. Curtis was the son of the late Willie and Hazel Martin. Curtis was a dedicated and devoted family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Minnie (Brown) Martin, his devoted daughters: Dorothy Martin, April Martin, Gayla Martin, Lisa Martin-Weaver and Evelyn Hopson (New York), son: James Williams of Georgia, his devoted son-in-law: Gary Weaver, two sisters: Doris Hosey of Philadelphia and Annabelle Jones of Paterson, NJ, eight sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by three children, daughter: Regina Martin and two sons: Travis and Reginald Martin. Cutis loved his family and devoted his life to providing for them. While others aspired to build fortunes Curtis built his family. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Friday, January 25, 2013, 7 PM at The Calvary Baptist Church 575 East 18th St., Paterson, NJ. Interment: William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery.
