ACASTER David Van Pelt, age 84, of Saddle River, NJ died April 23, 2007. Born April 19, 1923 in Portsmouth, NH. Attended Michael House School in Natal, South Africa before graduating from Lawrenceville School and Princeton University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. During WWII he served in the Marine Corp; Pacific theatre and China, He held manufacturing management positions in the US and Canada with the former American Cyanamid Co. for 42 years. Upon his retirement, he became a very active scuba diver, traveling world wide with his wife to exotic locations. His various volunteer works included District Committee Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America, Library Board, United Way, Church Warden in Canada and fund raising for Princeton University. He was a Saddle River resident for 40 years and a member of Church Episcopal Church in Ridgewood. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Jane Miller of Vienna, WV, his son Ben and daughter-in-law Sharon of Allendale, NJ, his daughter Ceecy and son-in-law Jack Ringwood of Moorestown NJ, a niece Terry Cauthorn of Vienna, WV, a brother Van Acaster of Tucson, AZ and five grandchildren Ashley and Allie Acaster, and David, Ned and Ben Ringwood. A memorial service will be held 11 AM , Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Christ Church, Cottage Place, Ridgewood, NJ. Visitation will be Wednesday, 7-9 PM at the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home 306 E.
