DeROCKER
Donald E. 89, of Mahwah, born on January 31, 1924, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013. Devoted husband of 60 years to Jeanette and devoted father to David of Mahwah, predeceased by his son, Stephen DeRocker and sister, Marion Brokaw. Donald is survived by his brother Richard and his wife Claire of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews. Donald attended Ridgewood Public Schools and Stephens Institute of Technology, which lead to a career in mechanical engineering in which he excelled. He was retired from Seir-Bath, a division of Ingersoll Rand. Donald was a proud Army Veteran of World War II, where he served in the Pacific Theatre with the 888th Signal Core Division in New Guinea and the Philippines. He was an avid fisherman and record collector and he enjoyed working on his puzzles (Sudoku, Kakuro and crosswords) and all things outdoors. Donald loved music of all kinds from Opera to Blue Grass and especially the music of Vic Damone. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-9 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 10 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church in Mahwah. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Ramsey. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Center for Food Action, Ridge Road in Mahwah would be appreciated. Please send tributes, memories and condolences to
