Dorothy E. (nee Gurtel), age 90, passed away peacefully at the Bay Path Nursing Center of Duxbury, MA on April 7th, 2013.
Born on January 26, 1923 in Jersey City to Herman and Bertha Gurtel, Dorothy resided in Jersey City where she attended public school. At Dickinson High School she met her beloved husband, Milton V. Fellman. They were married in 1945 as he served in the US Army Air Force in the Pacific. During that time Dorothy worked as a secretary and a Red Cross volunteer nurse's aide.
When Milton returned from the war they raised their family and resided in West Paterson for over 50 years.
Mrs. Fellman is survived by her children Robert Fellman of Venice, FL, Kathy Cipolletti and her husband George of Duxbury, MA and Donald Fellman and his wife Cara of Little Falls, NJ.
She was loved by 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who will all miss her very much.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, Milton V. Fellman and her son, Glenn M. Fellman.
Dorothy Fellman was a woman of service to charity and her church. She was a member of the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and was elected a Grand Officer (Worthy Grand Electa) in 1983. She chaired many committees for the First Reformed Church of Little Falls and remained an active member until her move to Massachusetts.
She will be remembered as an intelligent, progressive woman of great inner strength and great love for her family.
