Edward UNIS Obituary

UNIS Edward L., 81, of Clifton, passed away on July 30, 2010. Born in Newark, Mr. Unis lived in Clifton for most of his life. Before his retirement, he was employed as an electrical engineer with the Singer-Kearfott Co. of West Paterson for over 40 years.Mr. Unis was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton as well as a member of the Hammond Organ Club of Rahway. Mr. Unis served in The Army National Guard from 1948 to 1952.He was predeceased by his brother, Roland Unis.Survivors include: his beloved wife, Lois (nee Franklin) Unis; three loving daughters, Rosemary Portolano and her husband, Frank of Parsippany, Carol Carroll of Clifton and Debra Beckman and her husband, Charles of Belmar; three loving sons, Paul Unis of Clifton, Raymond Unis and his wife, Roxann of Haskell and Michael Unis of Clifton; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two nephews, Richard and Ronald Unis.Funeral services will be Monday 9:15 AM from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton and 10 AM at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair. Visiting will be Sunday from 2-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Rd., Clifton, NJ 07013.
