Sister Elizabeth MULLEN

MULLEN Sister Elizabeth, CFSP, passed away at Holy name Hosp., Teaneck on November 2, 2009. Sister was 82 years old. Born in Dalkey, County Dublin, Ireland on July 21, 1927.Daughter of the late Elizabeth McLoughlin and John Patrick Mullen. Sister entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace at Saint Michael Villa Novitiate, Englewood Cliffs.Sr. Elizabeth was a graduate of Seaton Hall University, BS Ed; Marywood College, MA Theology and Ministered in the following assignments: An educator, Sr. Elizabeth taught in a number of Catholic Schools in NJ prior to an assignment to St. Mary's Parish in Dumont, where she ministered for 19 years as a teacher, then principal; and finally, for 16 years as pastoral Associate. Retiring to Englewood Cliffs in 2004 she continued to serve as a volunteer with the Pastoral Care Team at Holy Name Hospital until 2008.Sister was pre-deceased by her brothers John, Peter, Matthew, Patrick, Joseph and Gerard Mullen of Ireland. Sister is survived by her brother James Mullen, her sister Breda Ferguson of Ireland as well as several nieces and nephews.Arrangements by Angelo G. Mania Funeral Directors, Cliffside Pk. Visiting hours at St. Michael Villa, Englewood Cliffs, NJ on Wednesday November 4th from 2:00pm to 7:00pm.
