FODY Eric David, age 55, of Pompton Lakes, NJ passed away on April 27, 2010, after a brief illness.Beloved husband of 32 years to Diane (Gorgol). Loving father to Eric Jr. and pre-deceased by his precious daughter, Jessica Lynn. Son of the late Frederick and Emily (Ostrowski) Fody. Brother to Brian Fody and his wife Arlene (Gorgol) of Vernon. Loving Uncle to Chad and Michael Fody of Vernon and Jennifer and A.J. Sacco of Arizona. Nephew to Anne Soltis of Clifton.Also surviving is his beloved German Shepherd, Maggie, who was adopted from the Garden State German Shepherd Rescue, and his enormous circle of friends.Born in Clifton, NJ, he graduated from Clifton High School in 1974. He attended Montclair State University.He was a Refrigeration/ Process Engineer Salesman with the Heerema Company in Hawthorne, NJ.Eric lived his life to the fullest. He was a die-hard Jets fan! He treasured his pride and joy, a 1970 Nova S.S. which he's owned since he was 20 years old.Eric loved fishing, vegetable gardening, and all of those family vacations in Wildwood Crest. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association and an Honorary Member of the VFW Post 2906 in Pompton Lakes.Eric had a big heart and was a loyal friend to everyone. He was always the first to offer his help or speak a kind word. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.A Memorial Service is planned on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 5 PM at St. Mary's Church in Pompton Lakes, NJ. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
