Florence F., 98, of Pompton Plains passed away at Lincoln Park Renaissance Rehab and Nursing Center on January 30, 2014.
Born in Newark, Florence and her husband Thomas "Hap" Halligan lived in Verona before moving to Pompton Plains in 1951. Florence first worked at Dr. Cardullo's office on Tilly Ave and later at Plains Pharmacy for many years. She was a loving foster parent for infants in need and was very active with the First Reformed Church where she taught Sunday school with her husband. Florence also served on committees and regularly attended Bible study group.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Patricia Anne Halligan. She was predeceased by her husband of 77 years, Thomas "Hap" Halligan.
Visiting hours will be held from 2-5 PM Friday, February 7 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will conclude the visitation at 5 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Florence's memory to the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains would be greatly appreciated by her family.
