Obituary Condolences

Gail P., 80, of Barnegat, NJ, formerly of Waldwick. Gail was called to eternal rest on March 8, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her husband Frank and her daughter Susan Gail. Gail grew up in Hawthorne, raised her family in Waldwick and then moved to Barnegat. One of her greatest achievements was her career as a nurse at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood and then continued as a hospice nurse in South Jersey. Gail was a member of St. Mary's Church, Barnegat, where she was a Eucharistic minister. Her visits brought joy to the sick as she comforted them with her faith.
Gail is survived by her children Frank Elwood, Jr., and his wife Jennie of Waretown, NJ, Brian Elwood and his wife Ruth of Waretown, NJ, Karen Andronaco and her husband John of Wellington, FL, Patrick Elwood of Hawthorne, and Mark Elwood of Barnegat. Gail's 12 grandchildren were her pride and joy and recently her newest addition on her 80th birthday, gave her the title of GREAT Grandmother. She was a loving grandmother of Jessica Bauer, Lindsay Termini and her husband Mike, Petty Officer Brian P. Elwood, US Navy, Thomas Elwood and Marissa Fetch, Susan Elwood, Nicole Pomponi, her husband Christopher and their son Nicholas, John Andronaco and his wife Stephanie, William Porto, Alexandra Olson and her husband Brad, Michael P. Elwood, Tyler Elwood and Dayna Elwood. Gail is survived by her dear sisters Joan Gardner of Waldwick and Marcia Cooper and her husband Bill of Georgia. Dearest sister-in-law of Jack Elwood and his wife Peg, Catherine Elwood and Margaret Elwood. Gail is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral will depart at 10:15 AM on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne, for an 11 AM funeral mass at St. Luke's R.C. Church, Ho-Ho-Kus. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
