VROEGINDAY
Herbert W., 81, of Toms River died Sunday, January 12, 2014.
Born in Clifton, he resided here until moving to Toms River 15 years ago. Herb is a US Army Veteran of the Korean War who served in Korea as a Medic. He was employed as a truck driver for ABF Trucking prior to his retirement and previously drove for Yale, Red Star, Arrow and Tropicana. Herb is a member of the Teamsters Union Local 560 in Jersey City.
He is predeceased by his wife, the former Mildred M. Saulino, who died in 1999, by four brothers, Peter, Crine and Robert Vroeginday, Adrian Vroegindewey and by three sisters, Margret Hromada, Gertrude Oostdyk and Alice Dob. Herb is survived by three daughters, Darlene Barlettano and husband, Donald of Clifton, Kathleen Rossi and husband, Victor of Parsippany and Eileen Parker and husband, Orlie of Clifton, by five grandchildren Kristin Scordilis and husband, Peter, Scott Barlettano and wife, Nicole, Danielle Parker, Briana and Victoria Rossi and by 2 sisters, Connie Iorio of Brick and Jeanette Sasiela of Clifton. Funeral services will begin 9:15 AM Thursday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Rd., Clifton, NJ 07012 with a 10 AM Mass at St. Philip RC Church. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memorial Park. Visiting hours are Tuesday 7-9 PM, Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. allwoodfuneralhome.com.
