Jayne Gilbride, 57, of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ passed away on January 28, 2014 at the Villa Marie Claire Hospice, Saddle River, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY she is one of eleven children and beloved twin to Joan. Jayne married Brian, her college sweetheart from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY and upon Jayne's graduation from college, she and Brian were married and moved to Guadalajara, Mexico where Brian attended medical school. After returning to the United States, Jayne graduated from Brooklyn Law School where her father, Gerard Gilbride, served as Dean. Jayne and Brian settled in New Jersey, first in Teaneck, then Ridgewood and ultimately built their dream home in HoHoKus. Jayne is the incredibly proud mother and number one fan to her four children and countless nieces, nephews, and students. Jayne dedicated her life to her children and obtained a Master's Degree in special education so that she could help them even more. Jayne has helped hundreds of children overcome their learning differences in order to become successful and dynamic people. Jayne was an avid philanthropist and committed to various causes including the Villa Maria Claire Hospice, ovarian cancer research, Touch the World Ministries of Mexico, and All is Well, Inc., a non-profit Jayne founded upon first being diagnosed with ovarian cancer seven years ago. One of Jayne's favorite places was her beach house in Southold, Long Island where she loved to sit on the back porch with the newspaper and have all of her children, under one roof. Jayne's selfless enthusiasm for life inspired those around her to become better versions of themselves. She is survived by her devoted husband, Brian Bauer, orthopedic surgeon at Holy Name Hospital, and four children, Christopher, OB/GYN at Griffin Hospital, Hilary, attorney at Legal Services for the Elderly in Queens, Jarrett, CEO of Health Recovery Solutions and Stefan, municipal bond salesman at Morgan Stanley in New York.
