John P. "Jack" Claeys

John Claeys Obituary

John "Jack" P. Claeys, 68, the husband of Shirley, died on Oct. 26. Born in Paterson to William C. and Anna Claeys, he lived in Lodi before moving to Hewitt 37 years ago.

Before retiring, Jack was an ironworker for Ironworkers Local 483 in Paterson. He was an Army veteran from 1964 through 1970, and was a member of Elks Lodge 2236 and American Legion Frank M. Sell Post 289 in West Milford.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, John W. Claeys of Warwick, N.Y., Gerald J. Finch of Rock Springs, Wyo., Robert W. Finch of Wayne, and Tammy Gedrimas of Robertsonville, N.C. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren. His parents and a son, William T. Claeys, predeceased him.

His interment was at Cedar Heights Cemetery in West Milford.
