PIZAPPI
Joseph J., Jr., age 81 of Waldwick, died at his home on Thursday, September 26, 2013. Joe was born in Norwalk, CT in 1932 and had been a resident of Waldwick for the past 72 years.
Joe served his country proudly as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. He was a truck driver for M & M Transport and then Texaco and in his later career was an owner operator. He was a member of the American Legion Post #57 and the VFW Post in Waldwick. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed traveling in his RV.
Surviving are his devoted sons, Joseph and his wife Jennifer, David and his wife Cristi and Daniel and his wife Patricia. Joe also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Jennifer, Daniel and his wife Rachel, Casey, Nicole, Christopher, Victoria and James and his sister Theresa Ann and her husband Joe Cicalese, sister-in-law Barbara Pizappi and many nieces and nephews. Joe was pre-deceased by his wife of 53 years, Alice (nee Terlemezian) in 2006.
The Pizappi family will receive family and friends on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 2-4 PM, followed by services at 4 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #57, 46 North Franklin Tpk., Waldwick, NJ 07463.
