Judith Barbara Abrams
Judith Barbara Abrams, 86, passed away 12/1/17 at home with her family by her side. She was born in the Bronx, and lived for the past 60 years in Emerson.
Devoted wife of Harold Abrams for 64 years. Caring mother of Ian, Michael, and the late Aron Abrams. Dear sister of Bernard Weitsman. Loving grandmother of Rachel, Rebecca, Erin, Claire, and Adelaide.
She met her husband at Cooper Union in New York, where both were art students. She was an accomplished artist, and had a varied career including commercial artist, real estate broker, community newspaper editor, church history author, and psychology textbook publisher.
She was the matriarch and focal point of her family. She touched and was loved by everyone she met. Her acerbic wit, vivacious laughter, bottomless concern for her loved ones, persistent stubbornness, and deep tenderness will all be missed.
Donations can be made in memory of Judith to Congregation Bnai Israel in Emerson.
