Lucius "Edward," age 85, of Hawthorne, died on April 6, 2013. Born in Berkeley County, SC, he lived there for 16 years before joining the Merchant Marines for 10 years. He then entered the Marine Corps during the Korean War serving 10 years. He worked as an industrial electrician for many years, and in his retirement, he was a crossing guard 6 years for the Glen Rock Police Department retiring in March of 2013. He is survived by a son, Stephen and his wife Gina, a daughter, Sandi Roach, two sisters, Lavina Smith and Ruth Mazurek, and four grandchildren, Sarah, Megan, Michael, and Shannon. He is predeceased by his son-in-law Rick Roach, and a brother, David Brown. Visiting Wednesday 7-9 PM with an 8:30 PM chapel service.
