Margaret, 96, of Manheim, PA, and formerly of Garfield, NJ, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Born in Colver, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Warchol Simchak.
She was the wife of the late Steve Vargo, who died in 2004. Margaret was a seamstress at the former Vargo Sportswear, Garfield, and the former Kay Coat Company, Passaic. She was a member of St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Cathedral, Passaic, where she was active in the Ladies Guild; and she was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Margaret enjoyed reading, baking, and was an accomplished seamstress. Surviving are two daughters, Lynn M., wife of Mark Mongon of Ridgewood, Lenore Vargo, wife of Victor Varchola of Manheim, PA, a son, Steven A. Vargo, husband of Jacqueline Chung of Narberth, PA, eight grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren, and a sister, Veronica Vargo of Cherry Valley, NY. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Vargo, a brother, John Simchak, and five sisters, Mary Pulaski, Anna Wagnecz, Susan Kolvall, Helen Vanca, and Julia Vargo. Visiting hours from Kugler Community Home for Funerals, 311- 5th Street, Saddle Brook, on Friday 7-9 PM. Prayer service to begin at 7:30 PM. Funeral Service on Saturday, 9 AM at Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel, Passaic. Interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Garfield.
