Marguerite "Peggy" (nee Binder), 94, of Pompton Plains, NJ, formerly of Old Tappan, NJ, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014. She was born in New York City to Matthew and Elsie Binder. Beloved wife of the late Frank G. Zamaitis. Dear sister of the late Matthew J. Binder and Gertrude Boot. Dear sister-in-law of Ada A. Binder and the late Robert F. Boot. Loving aunt of Matthew J. Binder, Joanne Ssekandi, Beth Brisebois, the late Carole Zurich and Patricia Cavin. She is also survived by many in-laws, great-nieces and great-nephews. Peggy graduated from Barnard College and then attended Columbia University Teacher's College where she received her Master's Degree. Peggy went on to teach at Ridgewood High School and Bridgeton High School. She then worked as a Corporate Secretary for Exxon Corporation, retiring in 1980. She was a longtime member of Trinity Reformed Church in Old Tappan, NJ and was currently a member of the First Reformed Church in Pompton Plains, NJ. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, May 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service celebrating Peggy's life and faith will be held at the funeral home on Friday May 2 at 11 AM.
