Marie Louise "Sis" (Venturini), 87, a lifelong resident of Carlstadt, passed away on August 11, 2013. Marie was the proprietor of Steve's Sizzling Steaks in Carlstadt. Established over 75 years ago, she was the second generation of a family owned business. On the first day the restaurant opened, Marie was there working at the age of 10. Upon turning 21, her father asked her to fill in for him as a bartender. She was the first woman to bartend in all of Bergen County. Marie was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, a member of the Rosary Altar Society for 25 years, a member of the Carlstadt Woman's Club since 1968 and Past President from 1976-1978 and 1989-1990, a 2011 Honor Roll Inductee to the N.J. State Federation of Women's Clubs, and a member of the Turtle Club. Beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Damiani. Loving mother of Richard Joseph Damiani and his wife Marcie and Blaze Damiani and his wife Jennifer. Cherished grandmother of Luke, Laura, Samuel, Hannah, Thomas, Ava, Will and great grandmother of Emma, Claire, Josiah, Olivia, Juda, Arianna, Seth, Blake, Benton and Eliana. Dear sister of Doris Ramoth and the late Stephen "Sonny" Venturini and Richard Venturini. Funeral from the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad Street, Carlstadt on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 9 AM and from St. Joseph's Church, East Rutherford at 9:30 AM.
