MARY F. BONDON

Mary F. Bondon, 95, a longtime Montclair resident, died of a stroke on Friday, Nov. 18, in her Stuart, Fla., home.

A memorial service for Mrs. Bondon will be held on Monday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. in Union Congregational Church, 176 Cooper Ave., Montclair, followed by a reception in the church.

Born in Kearny, Mrs. Bondon was a 1938 graduate of Montclair State Teachers College. In 1939 she married Lewis A. Bondon.

Mrs. Bondon was a trustee of Montclair State University, an active member of Union Congregational Church, a member of the Montclair Garden Club, and a founder of May in Montclair. She was also active for many years in the League of Women Voters.

Mrs. Bondon was predeceased in 1999 by her husband of 60 years, Lewis A. Bondon. She is survived by her four children, David Bondon and his wife Marilyn, Christine Olsen and her husband Richard, Amy Bondon, and Marylou Dodge of Nutley; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her companion during her last years, Gordon Murphy.
