HORWITZ
Maxwell, age 23, of Closter, NJ, passed quietly and unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, June 18, 2013.
Max was born on Wednesday, January 24, 1990, the son of Dr. Morris Horwitz of Haworth, NJ, and Gabrielle Horwitz (nee Turner) of Closter, NJ. Max is also survived by his loving older sister, Jillien Horwitz of Haworth, NJ.
Those who know Max well would say that he was a truly unique person. He was brilliant, charming, talented, generous, incredibly funny, and most of all, extremely caring and loving. Additionally, he was blessed with a very inquisitive mind that drove his thirst for knowledge.
Max was continuing his formal college education, but his true passions were with fine objects of art, classic jewelry and watches, exotic automobiles, and foreign cultures and their languages, particularly Russia and Japan. Max was an accredited student of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in New York City, and was responsible for a number of extraordinarily imaginative and beautiful pieces of both men's and women's jewelry. His current work included designing a particularly special and elegant engagement ring for a private client.
Visitation with Max's family will be Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2013 from 1-4 PM at the Moritz Funeral Home, 348 Closter Dock Road, Closter, NJ 07624. 201-768-4200.

A Memorial Service tribute to Max will begin at 3 PM.
Max's family asks that, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Maxwell Horwitz Endowment to support a long-term goal expressed by Max: to support gifted but needing students pursuing their own unique educational and entrepreneurial dreams. (P.O. Box 90, Closter, NJ 07624)
