RUTHERFORD- Michael D. Sojkowski, 57, resident of Rutherford, passed away Sept. 28, after a long illness. He was born in Norristown, Pa. to Michael and Monica (nee Madyar) Sojkowski.

Mr. Sojkowski was employed with the Mahwah U.S. Postal Service in their maintenance department for 15 years. He was a proud veteran for the United States Marine Corps, having served from 1974 to 1978. Michael loved kayaking and taking long rides on his Valucia motorcycle. He was a member of the American Legion and the Church of Saint Mary in Rutherford.

Mr. Sojkowski will be deeply missed by his wife, Margaret (nee Mastice) Sojkowski; his children, Vanessa McGowan and her husband Brian, Michael Levario, Nicole Sojkowski Shevelev and her husband Nick and Michael Sojkowski, Jr.; his grandchild, Lachlan and nephew John Eberle. He is survived by his loving sister, Linda Sojkowski.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday, Oct. 2, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. The funeral will be private. Thank you, Michael, for your Military Service to the United States of America.
