Obituary Condolences

Murray B. (81), of Tenafly, NJ and formerly of Mahwah and Fair Lawn, passed away on December 7, 2012.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 20 years, Sylvia Volin; his daughters Jan Schwartzberg, Lynn Schwartzberg (Ron Smith), and Lee Schwartzberg; his stepsons David Volin (Christine O'Donnell), Richard Volin (Katherine), and Michael Volin (Jennifer); and his grandchildren Andrew Douglas, Sarah Smith, James Douglas, Eric Douglas, Alexander Volin, Emily Volin, and Jacob Volin.
Born in Paterson, Murray was the only son of Eli and Esther Schwartzberg. Murray earned his bachelors and law degrees from the University of Michigan, where he met his wife Bette Seid Schwartzberg, who predeceased him in 1989 after 34 years of marriage.
Murray loved life. He was fond of great music, with a particular love of opera and baroque music; railroads, airplanes, and all forms of transportation; participating in outdoor sports including hiking, cross-country skiing, kayaking, bird-watching, and bicycling were among his passions. He took special joy in sharing his adventures with his children and grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 AM (doors will open at 10 AM) on Monday, December 10 at Louis Suburban Chapel, 13-01 Broadway (Route 4 West), Fair Lawn. Burial will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus. Shiva will be observed Monday from 3:30PM - 8PM, Tuesday and Wednesday from 5-8PM in Tenafly.
Donations in Murray's name may be made to Jewish Family Services of Bergen County, the Philharmonic-Symphony Society of New York, or Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey.
