Richard, A., 77, of Ridgewood, NJ formerly of N. Providence, RI passed away on June 18, 2014.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on February 17, 1937, he was the son of the late Theresa (Marcoux) and Frederick A. Allaire. Richard attended Providence College before transferring to Our Lady of Providence Seminary. Upon graduation, he completed studies in theology at the University of Louvain, Belgium and received a master degree in education from Rhode Island College. He began his career in education as a math teacher in 1961 and was appointed to a position as Supervisor of Compensatory Education with the state of RI in 1967. After 33 years with Johnston Public Schools, Richard retired in 1996 serving as Principal of the Sarah Dyer Barnes School for 27 years. He was an avid reader of current world and national events and enjoyed social media connecting with friends and family.
Richard is predeceased by his former wife Catherine (Wheeler) and brother, Reverend Robert Allaire. He is survived by his three daughters, Diane and her husband Robert Amorese of Park Ridge, NJ, Christine and her husband Dr. Dante Implicito of Franklin Lakes, NJ and Suzy Allaire and Steven Namm of Venice Beach, CA. Additionally, he leaves three sisters, Jane (Allaire) Royer of N. Attleboro, MA and Judith (Allaire) Wilson of Blythewood, SC, Ann Allaire of E. Columbia, SC and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was the cherished Grampi of his beloved Catherine, Lily, Anthony, Ryan and Lauren.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Rd, Franklin Lakes at 11 AM on Friday, June 27.
A private memorial service in Rhode Island will be held at a later date.
