Robert O., age 96, of Wyckoff, on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Robert O. Kohler was born on August 23, 1916 in Brooklyn, NY. He attended New York University where he received his B.S. and M.S. degrees. Was drafted in July 1942 and was sent to India in the Air Corps Ground Troops. Was given orders by HQ in Calcutta as to what ordnance should be sent "over the Hump" to China. Discharged in 1946 as a Master Sergeant. Was employed by Greff Fabrics where he worked as an inside salesman, a representative to customers in Eastern Canada and finally as the New Jersey Sales Rep. Lived in Glen Rock and Wyckoff, NJ.
Member of CBI (China, Burma, India) Vets and the Burma Star (British equivalent of United States CBI) he was Commander of the Garden State Basha for two years. Also a member of Fidelity F&AM #113 and Past High Priest of Chapter 49 Royal Arch Masons. Beloved husband of the late Marion. Beloved father of two sons, grandfather of two and great grandfather of two. Funeral will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue. Interment will follow at the George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7-9 PM. (www.browningforshay.com)
