Ronald Francis, "Ron," age 77, of Ho-Ho-Kus, formerly of Ridgewood, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 25, 2014. He graduated from Xavier H.S. then attended Holy Cross College, Class of 1957. He served as a lieutenant in the United States Navy. He attended NYU Law School graduating in 1964. He was admitted to both the New York and New Jersey State Bars and certified by JAG. He was a founding partner of Geoghan and Tutrone practicing law from 1964 - 2013. He was a member of the New York State Association of Trial Lawyers and New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations. He was a member of SPEBSQSA directing the Brooklyn chapter for 15 years. He served as Councilman for the Village of Ridgewood. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Ridgewood Council No. 1736. He was an active member of Ridgewood Jamboree as a piano player from 1977 - 1985, and an active participant in College Capers. He enjoyed playing banjo for Just a Bunch of Banjos and piano for The Hobbyists. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. In addition to his many musical talents, he was an avid gardener, boater and fisherman. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Catherine and his four children: Joliann Simpson of Glen Rock, Dwaine Tutrone of Ho-Ho-Kus and her significant other, Sal Benedetto, Ronald Tutrone, Jr, MD and his wife, Lissen of Baltimore, Maris Sattely and her husband, James of Oradell. He is the loving grandfather, "Poppy," of eight grandchildren: Maris, Ted, Taylor, Tim, Katie, Elizabeth, Catherine and Caroline. Ron was also a father-figure to Allison Topilow of New York City. Family and friends may visit Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave., Ridgewood, NJ. Funeral Mass Friday, 10:45 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, 1 Passaic Street, Ridgewood. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the Valley Hospital Foundation, 223 N. Van Dien Ave., Ridgewood, NJ 07450.
