DeFALCO
Rose (nee Scorziello), 85, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 5, 2014, surrounded by her family. Rose was born in Hoboken and lived most her adult life in Carlstadt, before moving to Wantage in 2001. She was a skilled seamstress of 26 years. After retirement, Rose owned a dress shop, followed by time spent at what was to become her favorite job, a short order cook in a sandwich shop where she could spend time with her daughter and her daughter's friends. Rose supported the local churches by attending bingo three times per week. She loved to be outdoors and was an avid walker. Daughter of Dominic and Maddalena Scorziello, Rose was predeceased by her two brothers Gabriel and Nick, as well as by two sisters, Millie and Antoinette. One of Rose's greatest joys in life came from being with her four sisters. Rose is survived by her husband of 63 years, James; her son Carmine and his wife Maureen; her daughter Patricia and her husband Joseph Caggiano; six grandchildren; James DeFalco and his wife Crystal, Jennifer Spadevecchia and her husband Robert, Sarah DeFalco, Danielle Caggiano, Michael DeFalco, and Joseph Caggiano, as well as three great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her sisters Jenny Reisen and Anna Simpfenderfer, her best friend Mary Trombitas and 22 nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad Street, Carlstadt on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 9:30 AM and from St. Joseph's R.C. Church, East Rutherford at 10 AM. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be sent to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or online at www.stjude.org., a charity which Rose supported her entire adult life.
