Russell Pezzano Obituary
Russell J., Sr., 82, of Haskell passed away on September 15, 2013 surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Born in Paterson he has lived in Haskell since 1962.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and prior to his retirement he was a roofer with Rainbow Roofing.
In his younger years, Russell was a well-known award winning horseman winning over 100 champion ribbons and a trick rider at various exhibitions in the Garret Mountain area.
He also worked for the Valero Gas Station in Haskell for over 35 years.
Beloved husband of Sophie Pezzano (nee Dellanno) of Haskell. Devoted father of Gale Artsma and her husband Robert of Sussex and Russell J. Pezzano, Jr. and his wife Lorretta of West Milford. Cherished Pop of Kristen Walsh and her husband Daniel, Ashley Cosh and her husband Marc, Robert E. Artsma, Jr., AimeePezzano, Russell J. Pezzano III (R.J.), AlyssiaCanipe and her husband David and Jessica Garrison. Loving great-grandpop of Marc R. Cosh, Jr., Ariana Canipe and David Canipe, Jr.
Dear brother of Arnold Pezzano and his wife Evelyn of Maryland, Charles Pezzano and his late wife Lila of Clifton, the late William Pezzano and his wife, the late JosephinePezzano and the late Joan Dellanno.
Russell is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Leo Dellanno of Woodland Park and Henry J. Dellanno of Toms River and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral Services Friday 7 PM at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. The family will receive family and friends on Friday from 4-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.
