MEGNA
Salvatore Thomas, was 89 when he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on Sunday, December 2nd. Born in New York City he lived in Jersey City before settling in New Milford 61 years ago. Salvatore retired from Westinghose Elevator after working as an electrical engineer for 47 years. He served in the US Army during World War II stationed in China, working in communications. He was a proud member of the VFW and the China, Burma, India Club. A parishioner of the Church of the Ascension, New Milford, Salvatore was an avid fisherman and member of the Elco Rod and Reel Club in Bayonne. Predeceased by the late Frances Megna (nee Pakula ) he is survived by his beloved wife Claire Megna (nee Alderdice). Loving father of Judy Valderrama, Joanne Picaro and husband Joseph, Thomas Megna and wife Nancy, Mary Beth Rufo and husband Sam and Robert Megna. Devoted grandfather of Lisa Valderrama, Sammy Rufo, Frances Rufo, Vinny Rufo, and Layla Megna. Adored great grandfather of Matthew, Michael, and Nicholas Heidkamp. Funeral from the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford, New Jersey on Thursday 8:30 AM. A funeral mass will be offered at the Church of the Ascension, New Milford 9:30 AM. Interment to follow George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 PM.
