PEQUANNOCK — Services were held for Sigurd Christiansen, 95, of the Pompton Plains section of this community, who died on Thursday, February 6, 2014.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Christiansen moved to Oradell in 1953 and then to Pompton Plains in 2010. A U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a member of River Edge Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 876. Also, he was a longtime member of the Reformed Church of Oradell and a member of Masons Euclid Lodge No. 136, Hasbrouck Heights, for more than 60 years.

Services were Tuesday at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains, followed by interment at Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains.

Mr. Christiansen is survived by his daughter, Susan Breznak; and two granddaughters.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Elizabeth Eickhorst; his brothers, Harry, Frank, Walter, and Clifford; and his sister, Marie Blackwell.
