ACKERLY - Stanton, of Suffern, died September 14, 2005. He was 72. He was born on March 1, 1933 in Suffern, New York to Raymond and Rose Sherwood Ackerly, and lived in Mahwah, New Jersey. Stanton was a graduate of Ramsey High School and then worked for Con Edison, before retiring, but in his heart he was a carpenter. Mr. Ackerly was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. For many years he loved vacationing at Lake Bomoseen, Vermont. Stanton was a life member, ex-Chief and past president of the Tallman Fire Department. He is survived by his loving wife Helen Ackerly, daughter Mindy and her husband Robert Conti, son Stanton Gregg Ackerly, and daughter Suzanne and her husband Kevin Haggerty. Surviving grandchildren include Steven and Bobby, Raymond and Alexa, Kevin Sean and Kylie Rose. Stanton is also survived by his brother, Allen Ackerly and his wife Helen, and in-laws; Harry and Doris Marsden, George and Roberta Doremus and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Ackery's Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 10 AM, the Rev. Thomas Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Airmoint Cemetery. His family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at The Wanamaker & Carlough F.H., 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY.
