Warren M., 80, of Upper Montclair passed away on April 4, 2013. Born in Passaic, Warren lived in Pequannock and Clifton before moving to Upper Montclair in 1961. Warren was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and also served for many years as an Army Reservist. During his time in the Military, Warren furthered his studies in the field of Science and earned his Bachelor's Degree, and later his Master's Degree, in education. Warren also received training from The Signal School of the US Army, which he later used in reconnaissance work in Germany and France. Warren then worked as a Physics Teacher at Northern Valley Regional High School, Old Tappan, for over 30 years and was instrumental in establishing the Honors Physics Program there. Warren had a true love for his profession and often dedicated numerous hours after school to help his students in their studies and in their preparation efforts to compete in academic decathlons. Devoted husband for 54 years of Gloria (Ficarra). Dear brother of Maureen Dishian of Shelton, CT. Cherished uncle of Gregory, Courtney, Brittany and Elizabeth Dishian, Carol Elmstrom, Janice Blinder, Fern Racht, Karen Mills, Kevin, Frederick and Brian Ficarra, Beverly Snyder, Nancy Royer and Michael Pazin. Funeral Service Saturday the 13th, 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Entombment, Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. Visiting Friday the 12th, 3-7 PM at the funeral home. Donations will be accepted by Gloria Nolan for the creation of a scholarship fund in Warren's Memory. Funds recieved will be awarded to a senior at Northern Valley Regional High School for their collegiate studies.
