KERESZI Sr. Beatrice, F.S.P., 82, of Elmwood Park, died Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 at home in the convent in Elmwood Park. Born in Bethlehem, PA to the late George and Anna Kereszi. Sister Beatrice was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Staten Island, received a B.S. in Education from Fordham University, and graduate study in religious studies at Manhattan College, Bronx, NY and Seton Hall University, S. Orange, NJ. Sister Beatrice was a member of the Daughters of Divine Charity for 33 years and transferred to a Franciscan Congregaton in 1984. She is currently a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Peace, Haverstraw, NY.She was an elementary school teacher for 15 years at St. Stephens School (Bridgeport, CT), St. Ladislas School (New Brunswick,NJ), St. Thomas School (Old Bridge, NJ), St. Stephen School (Passaic, NJ), St. Emery School (Fairfield, NJ) and our Lady of Consolation School (Wayne, NJ), an elementary school principal for 10 years at St. Stephen School (New York City) and Mount Carmel School (Woodbridge, NJ).As a Franciscan Sister of Peace she was Director of Religious Education and Coordinator of Ministry to the Sick, St. Anthony's Parish, Butler, NJ, Director of Residence, at Kennedy Residence, Pompton Lakes, NJ, a teacher at Wayne Area Child Care Center, Wayne, NJ and Ministry to the Sick and Homebound, St. Leos Parish, Elmwood Park, NJ.She is survived by two sisters, Helen Urich of Allentown, PA and Sister Mary Marcelle Kereszi of Bethlehem, PA, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.A wake will be held in St. Leos Church, 324 Market St., Elmwood Park, Wednesday from 3-6:30 PM, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 7 PM.Wake and Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at Ss. Simon and Jude Chuch, Bethlehem, PA. Interment, Holy Savior Cemetery, Bethlehem, PA.In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Franciscan Sisters of Peace, 20 Ridge St., Haverstraw, NY 10927 would be greatly appreciated.Arrangements by the Patrick J.
