WAYNE - Liesel Glanzberg Adler, 96, died Nov. 25, 2010.
Born in Wurzburg, Germany, on July 22, 1914, she immigrated to the U.S. in 1937 to New York City, residing with her uncle becoming employed by a haberdashery. A year later she sponsored her parents to immigrate to the U.S. Adler attended music conservatory for piano performance.
Adler resided in Wayne until 2001 then moved to Paramus, Middletown, and then Holmdel over the next nine years. Liesel was self-employed as a piano teacher.
In the early 40s, she married Dave Deutsch and they had sons Murray, Steven and Jerry. They divorced and she married her second husband Lou Adler in 1953 and having a son together, Gary. The family resided in Fair Lawn until 1965. They
moved to Wayne where Liesel was very active in several organizations including Cancer Care, American Cancer Society, ORT, Haddassa and the Wayne Valley H.S. Band Parents Organization.
Her husband Lou preceded her in 1984.
Liesel is survived by her sons Murray and his wife Maxine Deutsch, Steven and his wife Anne Deutsch, Jerry Deutsch and Gary Adler; grandchildren Emily and Steven Schiller, Kenneth and Zizette Deutsch, Greg and Samantha Deutsch, Cori and Sean Dunphy, Jill and Andy Forestieri and Elana and Oren Segal; 12 great-grandchildren; and nephew Serge Glanzberg.
