CARLSTADT- Gary John Colombo, 59, of Dumont for 10 years and formerly of Carlstadt, passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014.

Mr. Colombo was an officer at the Bergen County Sheriffs Department in Hackensack for eight years and prior was an officer with the New Jersey Department of Corrections in Trenton. He was a past member of the Policemen's Benevolent Association, Local 134, an active member of the N.J. Police Honor Legion and a former member of the Lodi Fire Department.
Mr. Colombo was the beloved son of Mary A. (nee Sacco) Colombo of Carlstadt and the late Peter A. Colombo. He was the loving father of Shanna Colombo, Gary E. Colombo and Jason Colombo. He was the dear brother of Michael Colombo of Old Bridge and the late Peter Colombo.
Visitation will be held at the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., Carlstadt, on Thursday, Feb. 6 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at Kimak Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 7 at 9 a.m. and from St. Mary's R.C. Church, Rutherford at 9:30 a.m. A cremation ceremony will be private.
