Dorothy, of North Caldwell, NJ died peacefully on Tuesday February 18th. She led a full and distinguished life throughout all of her 89 years. She was born in Little Falls, NJ in 1925 to John and Mary Safran and in 1951 married Charles Paglieri, her husband of 60 years before his death in 2011. Dorothy spent the last 44 years of her life at her cherished home in North Caldwell.
She was a long time active member of St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Little Falls, the Little Falls Women's Club and the Little Falls Historical Society, serving in various capacities with those organizations over the many years of her life until her dying days.
Her gifts to family and friends she touched were numerous as she always put her own needs after those of others. She was wise, loving and compassionate and her thoughts and actions provided all those she touched with a road map towards the greater good in the world.
She is survived by a loving family - children, Gayle (Giles), Wayne and Wendy (Heiser), eight grandchildren, Scott, Julia, Mark, Eric, Maria, Ryan, Morgan and Nicole, one great-grandchild Taylor, as well as brother John (Sonny) Safran, sons-in-law Steve Giles and Scott Heiser and daughter-in-law Jess Chang. Her warmth, compassion, wisdom and grace will be missed by all.
Please meet at St. Agnes Church at 65 Union Avenue, Little Falls, NJ on Saturday February 22nd for a 10AM funeral service. Burial will immediately follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, NJ. Visitation will be at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home at 47 Main Street, Little Falls, NJ on Friday February 21st from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
