Ida, lifelong resident of Cedar Grove, NJ, died at home on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. She was 98.
Ida was born on January 13, 1916 in Cedar Grove to Michael and Michelina Di Loreto Bruno. Full-time wife and mother, part-time seamstress and worker, she dedicated her entire life to her faith, family and friends. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church in Little Falls. On June 18, 1978 she was received into the Third Order of St. Francis (Secular Franciscans) at St. Bonaventure's Church in West Paterson and was professed the following year. She was also a member of the Franciscan Sisters Lay Associates, Peekskill, NY.
Ida is survived by her daughters Sister Anne Matthew Carlone (FMSC) and Angela Michelle T. Carlone; daughter-in-law Carol Carlone; granddaughters Lisa Carlone, and Stephanie Carlone Carravone and her spouse Michael Carravone; three great-grandchildren Matthew, Faith and Mikayla; brothers John Bruno and Anthony Bruno, Sr.; sisters-in-law Margaret and Julia Bruno, many nieces and nephews.
Ida was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph, daughter Marie and son Matthew Carlone.
Visiting is at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls, Sunday, February 23, from 2-7 PM, with recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Rosary for Life, from 3-4 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Monday, February 24, at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church, Little Falls, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ida's memory may be made to the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart (FMSC), 250 South Street, Peekskill, NY 10566 or the Franciscan Friars, Holy Name Province, 135 West 31st St., New York, NY 10001.
