Jennifer M., 84, of Pompton Plains, died Tuesday, March 04, 2014 in Wayne.
Born in New York City, Jennifer was the daughter of Sidney and Beatrice Harris. After graduating high school, she earned her bachelor's degree from Douglas College in East Brunswick. She went on to spend her career working as a Guidance Counselor and Teacher at Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes.
A longtime member of the First Reformed Church, Jennifer participated in the church choir. Having a passion for music, she also participated in the Berkshire Choral Society. She was an avid photographer, and enjoyed taking pictures on safari and underwater while snorkeling.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Winifred Harris; her nephews, Christopher Harris and his wife Jacqueline, and Donald C. Harris; her niece, Pamela Linke; and many grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Christopher John Harris.
Visiting will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will be held 8:30 PM Friday at the funeral home to conclude the visitation period. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the First Reformed Church Choir, 529 Newark Pompton Tpke., Pompton Plains NJ 07444 would be greatly appreciated.
