PEQUANNOCK — Services were held for Deacon Edward C. Jaroszewski, 82, of the Pompton Plains section of this community, who died on Monday, March 10, 2014.

Born and raised in Bayonne, Deacon Jaroszewski moved to Pompton Plains in 1957. He worked in engineering and management for 42 years before retiring from Picatinny Arsenal. Also, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Korean War. A longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Pompton Plains, he was ordained a deacon in 1978.

Services were Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church. Arrangements were by the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church or to the .

Deacon Jaroszewski is survived by his wife, the former Theresa Soneck; his daughters, Diane Alario and Robin Gullifer; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Anna; and his brothers, Walter and Peter.
