Eileen (Powers) a resident of Livingston for over 60 years, passed away on March 13, 2014. Eileen was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Morton. Eileen was born on April 8, 1922 in Springfield, Massachusetts. She met her husband in Springfield and was married 60 years. She is survived by her two sons, Michael Morton of Norwood, NJ, his wife Susan and her two grandchildren Ryan and Lauren and Peter Morton of Wilmington, DE, his fiancée Kathleen Spang and her grandson Brennan. Eileen is also survived by her sister-in-law, Cathy Powers and her four nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Morton was a parishioner of St. Philomena's R.C. Church. Eileen enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She was an avid painter who specialized in watercolors. Many family members and friends are graced with her paintings.
Eileen worked in the allergy clinic at Orange Memorial Hospital for many years. She worked at Camp Awosting in Morris CT. for over twenty summers as the camp Nurse and Mom. She also worked with her husband in the ticket office at the Meadowlands and Giants Stadium.
There will be a memorial gathering at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ on Friday March 21, 2014 from 5 - 8 PM. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. Philomena's R.C. Church 386 S. Livingston Avenue Livingston, NJ at 10:30 AM.
