Eunice Patterson, 85 years old, of Demarest, died peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, the late Bronx Superior Court Judge, Lester W. Patterson, her mother, the late Ethyle Lang Patterson and two sisters, Joan Pateracki and Ellis Weiss of Riverdale, NY. Eunice graduated as Valedictorian from Elizabeth Seton School and attended Rosemont College where she met her husband, Joseph F. Ringelstein, a student at Villanova University. They married in 1949 and have resided in Demarest for over 60 years. Loving mother of Joseph, Jr. (Lynda), Peter (Theresa), Leslie, Todd (Sandra), Geoffrey (Jennifer), Kim Miller (William), Russ (Jennifer), Jay Mufson (Stephen). Also survived by 17 grandchildren and three great-grand children. Her many contributions to her family and the community include support of her husband during his role as Councilman/Mayor of Demarest, as a former Director of the Demarest Public Library, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Cub Scout troupe leader and most importantly, as a surrogate mother to many local children in need of a temporary home. Memorial visitation at the Barrett Funeral Home, 148 Dean Dr. Tenafly on Tuesday, 4 to 7 PM. Memorial Mass at St. Joseph's Church, Demarest, Wednesday 11 AM.
