Emily Margaret, of Brewster, MA died peacefully April 26th, 2014 with her loving family at her side.
Emily was born in Queens, New York on May 13, 1948, daughter of Emily and William Kerrigan from Rutland VT and Brooklyn NY respectfully.
A graduate of Bryant High School in Woodside NY, Emily held various jobs in the retail and service industry including, B. Altman and Company (NY, NY), Cheese and Things (Allendale, NJ), The Cheese Shop (Ridgewood, NJ), and the office of Dr. Richard Levy, O.D. (Allendale, NJ).
Emily was married to her husband, Don for 42 years and had two children, Kimberly of Commack, NY and Peter of Quincy, MA.
After the children graduated from college Emily and Don relocated from Allendale NJ to Edgewater, MD. She purchased and ran with great success a gift shop named "Magnolia's" on Main Street in downtown Annapolis.
Due to their numerous vacations on and affection of Cape Cod, in 2004 Emily and her husband decided to make Brewster their permanent residence. Once settled on the Cape, Emily became active with the Brewster Garden Club and spent much time with her neighbors and friends. She found much joy in baking and helping others. She was always considered everyone's friend and anyone who came in contact with her knew that fun times and a few laughs were to be had.
The most treasured person in her life was her grandson Tyler, who affectionately referred to his grandmother as "Cheech."
Emily is survived by her husband Don, daughter Kimberly, son Peter, grandson Tyler and son-in-law William.
Emily was the sister of Thomas A Kerrigan of Las Vegas, NV and William Kerrigan of Ocean Beach, NY.
Viewing will be held at Doane Beal and Ames, South Dennis, MA on April 30th at 2-4 and 6-9PM. Memorial Mass will be held on May 1st, 2014. 11 AM at Our Lady of the Cape. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Girlygirl 'gives back' Inc., Post Office Box 12, East Sandwich, MA 02537
