INPYN
Dorothy Ann, 82, a longtime resident of Kinnelon, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 after a brief illness.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Dorothy was the daughter of Egron and Isabella Lindgren. Raised in Brooklyn, she graduated high school and began working at the Barrett Building in Manhattan. There, she met and quickly fell in love with Carl Inpyn. The two were married on November 28, 1953, and lived briefly in the Bronx before settling in Kinnelon 56 years ago.
Dorothy worked as a secretary in the family's engineering business, but was most known for being an excellent homemaker. She most enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and hosting her family over for any and all holidays. She was a woman with a beautiful spirit, and was an eternal optimist. She will live on in the hearts of her family and be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished Mom-Mom.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Carl; her son, Bruce and his wife Debby; her daughter, Debbie Hansen and her husband Jeffrey; her brothers, James and William Lindgren; her sisters, Isabelle Radcliffe and Eileen Paterno; her grandchildren, Andrew Hansen, Craig Hansen and his wife Ashley Caston Hansen, Alexis Deaton and her husband Darin, James Inpyn and his wife Joelle, and Bethany McQuirk and her husband Michael; and her great-grandchildren, Ayden Caston, Ryan Hansen, Natalie Hansen, and Juliette Inpyn.
Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will be held 11 AM. Friday, also at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. For more information please visit
