John Ronald, 89, of Emerson, New Jersey, passed away gently on April 29, 2014. Ron, (as everyone called him) was a WWII Veteran, proprietor of Trade Lino connected with his father's business, Emerson Quality Press; a boy scout leader, a competitive sailboat racer and commodore, a gifted craftsman and model maker, and even a jazz drummer.
Ron was one of those rare people who actually built the things his family needed and wanted. He built or restored kayaks, sailboats, ice boats, bikes, and toys. He made scouting trophies, obstacle courses, models, a rabbit hutch, a greenhouse, a playhouse and even a real house. If the family needed or had an idea for something, Ron wouldn't buy it, he would build it or find something someone else was discarding and restore it.
As a founding member of the Greenwood Lake Beach Association and a fleet commodore with the Awosting Yacht Squadron, Ron brought up his whole family loving lakes and the outdoors.
Ron is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna J. (Sauer) Wulff; their six children and their spouses; Wendy and Tim Carlson, Robin and Jeff Neipp, Jody and Joseph Costa, John and Margaret Wulff, William (Bill) and Grexan Wulff, Kathie and Edward (Chuck) Gerity; eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Ron was able to spend his last few days at his new home, Sunapee Cove (which actually resembles a yacht club building) in an apartment overlooking a view of Lake Sunapee.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 10 AM at the Emerson Bible Church, 162 Linwood Avenue, Emerson, NJ 07630. The church's former Pastor, David Haines, will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made "In the memory of John Ronald Wulff" addressed to: Voluntary Service, White River Junction VA Medical Center, 215 North Main Street, White River Junction, VT 05009.
