Elizabeth (nee Konarik), 102, of Passaic died Monday.
Born in Hungary, Mrs. Tar came to the United States in 1936 settling in New York City for seven years then moving to Passaic, residing there since. She had been employed as a seamstress at the Well John Co., formerly of Passaic, for over 20 years, retiring in 1977.
She was a member of the Lorrantffy Suzanna Society of the Hungarian Reformed Church and a former member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society at Holy Trinity Church, Passaic.
Mrs. Tar was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Tar, in 1968 and by her son, Thomas J. Tar, in 2004. She was the last survivor of eighteen siblings.
Survivors include: her daughter-in-law, Lois Tar of Whippany; her special godchild and niece, Elizabeth Ovari and her family of Hungary; her three grandchildren, Lara and Bob Gallo, Marybeth and Neal Sailer and TJ and Jessica Tar; and her eight great-grandchildren: Matthew, Timothy, Christina, Michael, Sean, Lauren, Kalista and Laila.
Funeral Services will be 9:30 AM Saturday at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Ave., Clifton. Interment to follow at Lodi Cem., Lodi. Visitation on Friday from 2-5 PM only. Contributions to a
