OAK RIDGE — Services were held for Joseph John Montroni, 79, of this community, who died on Wednesday, July 2, 2014.

Mr. Montroni was raised in Hoboken and Union City. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean War, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Milton. Also, he was a parishioner of St. John Vianney R.C. Church, Stockholm, and St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, Oak Ridge, where he served as a Eucharistic minister and lector. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Joseph F. Lambe Council No. 5510, where served as Grand Knight and held several other offices as well.

Services were Monday at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, Pompton Plains. Arrangements were by the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. Donations may be sent to the , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.

Mr. Montroni is survived by his wife, the former Audrey Keefe; his daughters, Lori Johnson and Rene Kolb; his sister, Carmel Burch; and five grandchildren.
