John (Jack) S., 72, of Pompton Plains, passed away on July 11, 2014.
The son of the late George and Helen Laidlaw, Jack grew up on Long Island and was a graduate of Levittown High School. He proudly served in the US Army and found his niche as the VP of electrical engineering at Acrison Inc. for 40 years. An avid runner, Jack loved running triathlons with his friends, spending time on his motorcycle, boating and visiting national parks.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Mindy; his sons, Michael Laidlaw and his fiancé Antonia Rubino, and Scott Laidlaw; his daughters, Jacqueline Holden and her husband Eric and Kelly Casey and her husband Paul; his brother, William Laidlaw; his sister, Joanne Signore and her husband Bobby; and his six cherished grandchildren, Kristen, Tara, John, Liam, Erin and Judah.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 18 from 2-4 and 6-7:30 with a funeral service at 7:30. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory to The Valley Hospital Oncology or The Heart and Vascular Institute, 223 North Van Dien Ave, Ridgewood, NJ 07450 would be greatly appreciated by his family.
