VAN DYKE
Martin G., 91, of Toms River passed away Saturday August 2, 2014 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Martin spent many years as a sales representative before retiring from Barnes Associates, New York City in 1984. Born in Grand Rapids, MI., he resided in Norwood, NJ for nearly 40 years before moving to Toms River in 1987. Martin served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Martin was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church and a long time member of Holy Name Society. Martin was a member of the American Legion Post 272 and was a Past Councilman, Police Commissioner, and Fire Commissioner all of Norwood, NJ. Martin coached Norwood Little League for 9 years and was also a member of Norwood Studio Club. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Frances R. Van Dyke; three sons Gregory and his wife Nora of Manchester, Fred and Doug both of Norwood; one daughter Gail Van Dyke McKay and her husband Robert of River Vale; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
